About the Business
Founder and current owner Paul Haynes; "I was a young lad of 17 and working in a sports shop called "Athletes Foot" yes you heard it right "Athletes Foot"! Skating with my mates filled all of my spare time. Fed up with not having anywhere to buy skate stuff in my home town of Derby I decided to try selling it myself and the rest is history. The year was 1985 when the first shop opened in Derby, it was very small but extremely popular with the new brigade of skaters. A year later a second shop in Leicester was opened followed shortly after by a much larger store in Nottingham. The Nottingham shop had the infamous in store half-pipe where we entertained legends of the skateboard industry including The Gonz, Matt Hensley, Eric Dressen, Bill Danforth & Tony Magnusson. We also opened stores in Milton Keynes, Stoke and Leicester. We were early pioneers of mail order, advertising in national skate magazines helping skaters who lived in remote areas.
