About the Business

This week starting 25th March '13 is National Shoe Fitting Week! The aim is to raise national awareness of the importance of well fitting footwear and the vital service independent shoe retailers provide to the public.

Ill-fitting shoes will have not only a visible effect on your feet, but your entire physiology and well being. Incorrectly fitting shoe wear can damage your long term health, from joint and back pain to bunions.

One unique service we offer is the fitting of arch supports. Our staff are trained to recognize when a child's feet are pronating. A pronated foot is one where the heel bone angles inward and the arch tends to collapse, this can lead to significant joint and back pain. If needed we are able to fit a small amount of orthotic foam directly into the shoe to realine the foot. This is a service we have been offering for at least 30 years.
